VERNON -- Thanks to some new technology at Mountain Creek, the Vernon winter snowsports area had a snowy Sunday despite temps in the 60s, the New Jersey Herald reports.

The method, dubbed "snow magic," has been used at Walt Disney World for its "Frozen" attractions and allows for snowmaking up to 70 degrees, the report says.

The director of mountain operations told NJ Herald the process wouldn't replace traditional snowmaking but would help Mountain Creek prepare for Dec. 3 snow tubing opening.
